What is normalMagic?
normalMagic is a collection of tools that offer powerful new modelling workflows and advanced control over mesh normals.

Controlling normals can be essential for creating high quality 3D artwork. Hard surfaces, organic shapes, foliage, hair and fur can all benefit from modifying normals. Sometimes it’s the only way to get surfaces shading the way you want.

Seamless Surface Blending
Project positions, normals and UVs with Surface Project.

Merge, cut and weld projected meshes into a surface with Surface Insert.

Convenient auto-masking options means no need for creating and managing vertex groups. Sharp edges can be preserved and transferred.

Perfect Boolean Normals
Avoid Boolean normal issues completely with Boolean Pro: a replacement for Blender’s “Boolean” modifier that transfers normals from input geometry. It has additional options for a slice mode and an outset (expansion) per cut.

For destructively applied Booleans, Repair Boolean Normals will resolve most normal issues.

Smooth and Transfer Normals
Smooth and flatten normals normals to improve shading, achieve good toon lighting or for cheap subsurface scattering effects with Smooth Normals.

Pro Add-on v2 Updates:
Single file download/install for normalMagic Pro (Asset library is now packaged with the add-on)
Surface Integration. New panel, contains operators for:
Surface Insert
Project to Surface
Modifier References. New panel: show/hide, select/deselect, apply/delete objects referenced by modfiers on the active object.
Object Display. New panel to manage object visibility.
Boolean Pro Panel
“Advanced Boolean” sub-panel contains new operators:
Boolean Extrude
Boolean Trim
Cut Groove
Modifier Settings now handled by the modifier defaults system.
Modifier Header Bar. Quickly apply modifiers and manage modifier references from the modifier properties panel.
Modifier Defaults. Save default settings for modifiers added via the add-on.
Added Symmetrize and Mark Sharp operators. They are in the modifier header bar by default.
All operators now support more than 6 cutters/inserts at a time.
