PBR Advanced 5 is a complete shading system offering improvements, more features, and more flexibility than standard shaders alone, paired with a feature-rich suite of compositing tools designed to speed up your workflow and help to simplify some of the more complex aspects of compositing.

This shading system does not require OSL. It uses all of the standard shaders that come with Blender within its complex construction.

The PBRA Super Composite is a sophisticated all in one compositing node group which is very complex under the hood, but easy to use and very powerful.

In this classroom demo scene from Blender.org, I have converted all materials to use the PBR Advanced shading system and, for compositing, I used only the PBRA Super Composite by itself.

PBRA 5
The main all-in-one shader which is to be used as a more flexible and feature rich alternative to the Principled BSDF.

It was built with all other features included.

(All other shaders/features were build as independent modules which can be used separately however you wish.)

PBRA Diffuse
Alternative to the Diffuse BSDF with more features.

PBRA Subsurface Scattering
Alternative to the Subsurface Scattering BSDF with more features.

PBRA Reflection
A physically based reflection shader that can be applied to any material.

PBRA Cloth
A shader used for making silk or velvet cloth materials or to add a layer of sheen. (Best used with a diffuse shader passed through it)

PBRA Glossy
An alternative to the Glossy BSDF with more features.

PBRA Metal
An alternative to the Metallic BSDF with more features.

PBRA True Glass
An alternative to the Glass BSDF with more features.

PBRA Translucency
An alternative to the Translucent BSDF with more features.

PBRA Thin Film
A stand-alone thin film interference shader which can be applied over any other material without the limitations of the Principled BSDF.

PBRA Emission
An alternative to the Emission shader with more features.

PBRA Alpha
A stand-alone alpha transparency shader which can be used to add an alpha channel to any material setup or provide culling options.

PBRA Volume
A combined alternative to the Volume Absorption, Volume Scatter, and Volume Coefficients shaders with built-in Volume Emission features.
