Fluid Painter 1.4.1
This update comes with several improvements and a dedicated video that shows all the new features and includes a practical example to see everything in action!

Fluid Sticking Problems?
When using the Sticking Tool in Surface Deform mode, it can happen that the fluid doesn’t stick to the target mesh.
In most cases, this happens because the Surface Deform modifier fails to bind, as the target mesh doesn’t meet certain requirements.
In the following video I’ll show you the most common warnings and ways to fix them.

Fluid String Slack
Added Slack parameters to simulate looseness to the strings, creating a gravity-like effect.

Drop Starting Spline
Added the “Drop Starting Spline” parameter to define from which spline the drops are created.

Viewport / Render Resolution
Added Resolution for Viewport and Render. This allows to maintain better performance in viewport, while still preserving the high-resolution fluid in the final render.

Drop Animate

The Drop Animate flag has been renamed to Drop Animate on Play and now also affects the Geometry Nodes Scene Time.
When this option is disabled, the Scene Time node is muted, preventing time evaluation and improving overall performance when the drops are not animating.
Removed Thickness Parameter
The Thickness parameter has been removed as it was redundant. The same visual result can now be achieved using scale and resolution settings, and when needed, UV scale for fluids with textured materials, or Layer Size for fluids that include a layer.
All presets have been updated to reflect this change and the scale set in the initial settings will be multiplied for the default scale of the chosen preset.
Improvements and fixes
Fixed a bug in the “Stick Fluid to Animated Object” tool occurring when the “Keep Fluid Properties” option was enabled in Blender 5.0
Fixed a bug in the Set Drawing Object function
Fixed a bug in the Geometry Node regarding curve tilt on fluid+ presets

Compatibility with Blender 5.0
Fluid Painter is now compatible with the new Blender version 5.0!

Automatic Fluid Strings
This update comes with an improved Merge Fluids Tool that includes a new feature that creates strings between the merged fluids!
