DECALmachine is a blender addon, which through mesh Decals, allows for surface detailing in a very non-committal, non-destructive, UV-less way. As such it represents an alternative approach to hard surface texturing.
In addition DECALmachine has deep Trim Sheet support, and supports Atlasing, as well as Baking to facilitate exporting to game engines like Unity, Unreal Engine etc.
Decals can be projected, sliced, created from grease pencil or edges. They can be material matched, and you can easily create your own.
Trims can be easily placed, cut, manipulated or removed – all directly in the 3D view.
DECALmachine 2.13 works with Blender 4.3 to 4.5 !

Blender 4.5 LTS is out, and with that I’m raising the minimum Blender version to 4.3, which allows me to supply the example assets, updated and working right out of the box in Blender 4.3, 4.4 and 4.5. No more post-installation asset update required.
Decal Baking
I’m happy to report that Decal Baking no longer suffers from the long-standing “bake-through” issue now. Taking advantage of the Ray Distance property, decals bakes are no properly capped and only appear where they should.
I’ve added a new example file demonstrating these changes and also show how decal bakes can be combined with other bakes, such as high-to-lowpoly normal bakes.
Sidebar
The 3D view’s sidebar has been modernized and simplified.
What was previously contained in dedicated panels, is now all placed in toggle-able sub-panels.
This is now inline with and mirrors all my other addons, and gives you exactly one panel per-addon under the single MACHIN3 tab.
